The week was finally over and Carman had taken that Saturday off to forget about school (though she did have a lot of studying to do) and take a break from training. Sure she kept her daggers and wand with her at all times but that didn't mean she used them. Since there were muggles about, her daggers were hidden under her skin tight light blue, blue jeans and her wand was hidden under the back of her deep red blouse that dipped low in the bust. Her hair long, deep brown hair hung loose around her shoulders and was tucked on one side behind her studded ears.
Carman walked down the street with her mind far from the people around her. She was far too busy thinking about what wizard discovered what herb to that would work well in such and such potion or just how far Pluto was away from Mars. Sure these might be trivial things to some people but the OWLs were getting closer and closer and she almost couldn't stand it.
Turning the corner to go into one of her favourite stores, she stopped dead at the prospect of hitting someone in front of her. "Sorry, excuse me." she said immediately before realizing just who it was. "Oh, it's you." [/blockquote]

His side pocket of his rusty dirty over washed blue jeans vibrated; reaching into his pocket he pulled out his cell phone, sighing seeing it was another one of his friends he ignored the call and turned off the cell phone. They had been bothering him all day, he was sick of it, couldn't a guy get out and enjoy a bit of time alone?
He had done a bit of shopping but the day was still young, with a faded black t-shirt and black skate shoes, he looked like another muggle; a muggle that held a deep secret. Rounding the corner, he ran straight into someone on accident that is. Looking up he began to say, "Sorry I didn't see..." but he trailed off seeing who it was. "Oh. Hey Carman!" Instantly his palms got sweaty and isntantly went to the back of his neck. "Sorry!"

Carman stared at him at first, wondering just what to do in a situation like this. Sure she'd thought about him but it seemed like it was only a drifting thought before he was there again. Then her senses came back into play. He was the one that nearly got himself pummelled into the ground because he thought himself so big to... To protect her?
"What? Come back to play hero again?" she snapped, not really meaning to sound cruel but she was more than sure that that was what it came out to be. Even so, her pride kept her from apologizing to him. "Uh... I've gotta go," she blurted quickly, moving to make her way around him to prevent him from seeing her blush about fifteen different shades of pink. [/blockquote]

Serian smiled, as her heard her comment, "You don't look like ya need savin' doll. " Letting his arm fall back down to his side he looked at her once more before she decided she was going to run from him. Bad idea, as soon as Serian noticed she was trying to dodge him, he turned around and once again chased after her. Something about this girl; he would chase her till the ends of the earth and back, just to get her attention. "Carman! Come on, Don't run again. I'm getting tired of it".
Finally catching up to her, he smiled looking at her. Pushing his fingers through his hair, he didn't take his emerald green eyes off Carman, she was defiantly beautiful. "So ya come out here for a little shopping?", he laughed a bit, "cuz I know it is defiantly too beautiful of a day to be studying"

Carman figured that making a break for it wouldn't get her very far with him. There was just something about him that told her that he wouldn't let her go so easily. But why not? Didn't he have others he could chase around like he did her? But when he stood in front of her, she looked down to the cobbled ground beneath them for a couple seconds to regain her composure before looking back up at him again.
"Yeah," she nodded, "My dad's birthday soon so I had to come out and get him something. Why are you out here by yourself? Where's your posse?" She couldn't help but to be a little cold. After all, the fluttering in her stomach had to be from some kind of food she'd eaten earlier that day. Maybe it's the pancakes... she thought bitterly, wishing she'd had an apple or something instead of that sugar. [/blockquote]

He sighed, and just shook his head, "Nah. A guy needs a break from them every now and again. They live their lives on whats going on around the school." He smiled, and looked from Carman to the ground than back up. "Your dad's birthday huh? Thats cool!" one could tell he was defiantly trying to strike up a conversation without trying to hard, or without Carman trying to run again.
He had to think for a minute, as he asked, "Let me take ya to lunch? Please?" he paused, trying not to sound desperate, his heart felt like it was going a 100 mph, as he stood there talking to her, "My treat."

Serian had a point. There was this thing about some people in the school that kept them thinking purely on what they were going to do when in the school; not to mention who was doing what at what time. It was sad to say the least. "Yeah, though don't let him hear you say that. He's kinda like a woman when you ask their age. Ever since mom died-" she cut herself off and turned her head away from Serian. Had she just told him her mother died? She hadn't told anyone in the school about that!
"Um, sure..." she responded quicker than usual, thankful that the subject was taken off of herself. Well kind of. Either way she had made a fool of herself in front of him. But why should I care? It's not like I have feelings for him or anything. He's just a friend. she thought with a mental nod and smiled at Serian. "I could do for some food." [/blockquote]

He smiled, holding out his arm for Carman. He had heard what she said about her mom, but he wasn't going to bring it up, he knew what it was like to be pushed about someone close to you dying, he knew defiantly about that, espcially all the sympathy that you got, like they knew. For serian though, it wasn't Sympathy toward Carman, it was Empathy, he knew exactly what she had gone through. "Cool. So your choice. I don't care." He turned toward Carman with a sweet smile on his face, he was bound to make her happy.

Carman was more than thankful that Serian didn't mention that she'd spoken of her mother's death. She didn't know about his family's death but that didn't mean he understood what happened with hers. At least that was what was going through her mind when she thought about the situation and what might have happened if he had actually mentioned it to her. Her mother was a touchy subject to her, far more than most anything she'd ever talk about to anyone. Talking about it would only cause tears and that was the last thing she wanted.
A small smile played on her lips as he told her lunch was up to her. "There's a restaurant just across from town that I've been itching to go to," she started, getting a little excited about the prospect of eating there at last. "It's called the Grapevine and I hear they've got really good food." [/blockquote]

He smiled and gave her a wink, "Your wish is my comand." He laughed a bit, but still had his arm out for her. "So how shall we get there?" He really could not keep his eyes off Carman.

Carman couldn't help but to chuckle a little at his enthusiasm about taking her out to lunch. It seemed like if she said no to his offer that he would absolutely break down. Of course she couldn't say no. Well it was more of a reason than that but she wouldn't admit that to herself. Never in a million years would she admit something like that. She took his arm with a curious raise of the eyebrow, her bags in the other hand.
It wasn't too far to the Grapevine and in that time she didn't make much conversation - or eye contact for that matter. She was far too nervous for reasons she couldn't quite figure out. Taking a deep breath as they entered the doors of the quaint little restaurant, she composed herself enough to give him a nod over to the lady who greeted them. "Table for two," she spoke up when asked how many there were going to be in the party. The lady introduced herself as Lynn, grabbed a couple menus and started to lead them back to a table in the middle of the room. [/blockquote]

Serian smiled as they walked in the door of the grapevine, "ya know I've heard so much about this place but haven't been here." He followed the lady known as Lynn, as they came to the table with only two chairs, Serian let go of Carman, and pulled out the seat for her before pulling out his own. "Madam?" He sorta giggled, now he was just being chesey; but he did it with a smile.
He was so glad to have ran into Carman, for some of the oddest reason Serian couldn't keep his mind from wondering back to the first day they had met. He kept wondering more about her since they didn't quite get to know each other that first day.

Carman gave a small nod of thanks to Serian as he pulled her chair out for her. Sure it was a little formal and the people were probably thinking thoughts that were more than likely far from the truth but she had to admit: It was very nice of him. Her stomach - or her heart - was starting to flutter again and she couldn't figure out why. It couldn't be because she had a crush on him because, well, that would just be absurd! She couldn't and wouldn't allow it.
Picking up the menu, she skimmed over it once before the waitress, this time a gentleman named Nicolas walked up to their tables and asked for their drinks. "I'll just have a Sprite," she replied, looking at the list of drinks. This was, after all, a muggle restaurant and though they weren't muggles, it was nice to drink something besides pumpkin juice. He waited for Serian's order before nodding and walking off to get their drinks. [/blockquote]

Sitting in his own seat, he stared at Carman while she ordered, and smiled. Not taking his eyes off of her, he ordered, "I'll have a virgin bloody mary please?" He could see the boy walk away out of the corner of his eye. "Sprite? is that it?" Serian lauged, sort of teasing Carman. He was probably getting really creepy by staring at Carman, but she was just too beautiful for him not to. His mind went wild with things he wanted to do to her.
He sat back into his chair, and ran his fingers through his hair, sort of taking a look away from Carman. Looking around the resturant it was rather quient, it could defiantly have a romantic view but suttle and chilled out.

"What of it?" she snapped back almost instinctively. "I've never been one for more than that when I plan to do something afterwards." Now that she thought about it, he'd been staring at her ever since they bumped into each other in they alley about fifteen minutes before. So first he tries to act hero and now he won't give her a second without him examining her. Was he like a hawk? Or was he just a perv like some of the other people in the school. She knew of several guys who would want more to look under a girl's skirt than to ask their name. Well at least he asked her name. He got kudos for that one.
A few moments, and several particular thoughts, later the waiter came back with their drinks and asked if they were ready for their meals. Carman, though, was still looking at the menu and couldn't quite decide between two of the meals. "Go ahead, I'll order in a minute." [/blockquote]
