Running his fingers through his hair; leaning against the wall. It had only been a few days back at ipswich and his mind kept racing through all the thoughts of that school was almost one more year till school was officially over, and his mind was wondering of all the things that he'd be normally doin', the chaos he'd be causin' wit Serlina, but that this year for the past five years; but that wasn't the case this year. Serians eyes darted from one person to another watching wondering what was going through each and everyones head.

Alright... Defense this morning then Charms. What the hell am I going to do? An exasperated look was on the young girl's face as she made her way through the crowd that was now conglomerated in the middle of the hall. A few girls were chatting in the corner, the shirts of their uniforms tucked in perfectly and their hair perfect as they expected. They were the preps. On the other side of the hall were several boys with their pants around their butts and their shirts haphazardly tucked half in and half out. They were obviously staring at the preps across the way and the girls seemed to be reciprocating the gesture.
Carman, on the other hand, wasn't one for being all that social with those kinds of people. She was sort of the outcast, not having the money for the fancy stuff but at the same time not really wanting to. She spent her time training in fighting and Quidditch and her other time cramming for one test or another. The only classes that seemed to interest her were Defense and Transfiguration. Other than that she knew she was basically screwed in everything else.
On the other hand nobody really knew the real Carman. Nobody knew that if they tested her nerves at the wrong time that they'd get a dagger to their throat. Well, that was, except for a select few who decided to tell a few others. Needless to say she wasn't very liked. "Oi! Jones!" Carman jolted from her thoughts, turning back at a male voice behind her, "Kill anyone lately?" he asked and him and his buddies burst out in laughter.
"Might be you if you don't watch out, Brinkman," she replied, venom in her voice and her blue eyes narrowed in irritation. He was always one to pick on her and she couldn't figure out why. Perhaps it was because she flipped out on him at one point. She'd had enough and he was the one taunting her. Him being two years older than her didn't help either. He was one of the popular kids and was, therefore, obligated to pick on people such as herself. They'd learn. Eventually. In the meantime she turned to leave the situation, only to have a hand on her shoulder.
Her first instinct, once figuring out just who it was, was to drop her books, grab his hand and flip him over her. He landed with a loud thunk on the ground and the consequences soon took hold. The entire crowd stopped and looked at her, her chest heaving half in irritation, half in adrenaline. They stepped back and he stood up, ready for a fight. She was ready to take out her daggers before someone caught their attention. [/blockquote]

Serian took the time to watch a few of the popular girls walk by, yes they always brought up his interest; Serlina was one, he thought it was the funniest thing, especially since she used to run it. He heard voices go back and forth between a popular boy, that all the boys either wanted to be or wanted to beat, and a girl; that by frankly Serian didn't know. A sigh; escaped his lips as he watch the scene unfold. Listening to the girls response he let out a small laugh but not loud enough to be heard, she was a fiesty one, and he really enjoyed her thought of killing a boy if he messed with her any more.
Serian watched as a boy walked up to her, and she flipped him over her. Standing up, Serian could tell the boy was ready to fight. Shaking his head he pushed himself off the wall, and took his time walking to the hostel situation. His shirt untucked, and unbuttoned, ya sure ipswich had a dress code, but it wasn't strickly inforced, of course he had a white wifebeater under it; he wasnt' about follow no damn code. He took his step between the girl and the henchmen of brinkman. Looking straight at the boy; "Donavan, Look there is no sense in wasting your breathe on a pretty girl like this, especially when I honestly think she can kick your sorry skinny ass". He just smiled turning back to the girl behind him and smiled at her winking, suddenly there was a straight knock to his jaw, he never saw it comin' but Donavan took a quick cheap swing straight at Serians face. As he stumbled, but caught himself before he toppled over the girl. Brushing off the his cheek he stands up proud, that he took the shot, and looked straight at the girl, "I'll take care of this doll. Don't ya worry"

The boy she'd flipped over her head wasn't, to her dismay, Brinkman himself but one of his henchmen that he liked to order about. Mind, it helped that they obeyed every word that slithered out of his mouth, even it meant going after a girl half their size. Her stance was lethal to those that threatened her. It was one that she tended to go into when there was a fight afoot. And there certainly was in this case.
But then someone else came into the picture and she couldn't help but to watch his every step. Yet after the first words were spoken between the two, she snapped out of whatever it was that she'd gone into and concentrated on things from behind the boy's back. Now this was a ripe situation. She was usually the one in front with someone behind her but now it was reversed. Didn't he know she could take care of herself? He had some nerve butting in. But when the remark about her being able to kick Donavan's ass she couldn't help but to smile back at the boy in thanks.
The next events that ensued didn't surprise her but apparently shocked the boy who was trying to protect her. Carman toppled to the ground under his weight and lay there in shock. What the hell? Does he have no skills? she thought irritatedly and got up when he did. "Take care of it?!" she snapped and stepped in front of him, pulling a dagger from her ankle holster. "I swear if you don't leave right now I'll slit you from navel," she pointed her dagger at Donavan's belly button and moved it up, "To your throat. Capiche?" Her voice was harsh and dry and her blade unwavering. She saw the hesitance in his movements and knew that he knew she would do it if the time came to it. [/blockquote]

Serian smiled as he watched the girl move quickly to protect herself. Looking right back at Donvan he just laughed, "Dude, ya ain't gonna start something now are ya?" The rat faced henchmen of Brinkmans spoke up, "Look Lucca, I'll beat you when I get ya alone. " Serian rolled his eyes; big talk for a small man. None the less, Donavan did walk away, he was smart enough to walk away before he truely did get in trouble. Serian watched as the boy walked back to his crew; Brinkman, the big man keep starin' at Serian shakin' his head. Once Donavan joined up they left.
Serian turned back to the red headed and smiled, "I said I'd take care of it didn't I?" He held out his hand in a friendly introduction, "I'm Serian Lucca by the way"

Carman's eyes narrowed, the crystal blue almost looking white in effect. This would certainly get a reputation out, that was for sure, though she wasn't sure if it was the reputation she wanted or not. She just wasn't the one to be pushed around by a couple of Goodwin idiots who thought themselves better than everyone else.
When he finally left, she sighed heavily and replaced her dagger at her ankle. The girls were required to wear skirts, a blouse and dress shoes but, by request of her father, Carman was allowed to wear the daggers at her ankles. He simply protested that if the rest of the students could carry a wand, she could carry her daggers to protect herself if needed. Finally the headmistress agreed after much deliberating.
"You said you'd take care of it but I saw you with a fist in the jaw. Not what I'd call taking care of things." she paused, pulling her wand from her holster and pointing it at her books on the floor a little ways away, "Accio." she muttered simply, the books flying into her hands. "Besides, I can handle myself well enough," she said matter-of-factly, storing her wand back in its holster. "Carman Jones. Pleased to meet you. Now if you don't mind I have somewhere I need to be." With that she turned and started walking through the crowd towards the dining hall. [/blockquote]

He smiled, taking a minute to let thing seep in, but it still he was a little takin' back by the girl. As soon as he realized she walked away, he chased after, dodging students. "CARMAN! Wait up?" He caught up to her standing in front of her holding up his hands, he smiled sweetly at her, "Wow girly calm down. Where ya got to be so fast? Take a minute & smell the roses?". He winked at her; tryin' to woo her, and obviously not doing a very good job of it.
"I'm guessin' you never heard of me huh?" he smiled again, putting his arms down, and crossing them against his chest.

Carman rolled her eyes as she heard her name being yelled from half way down the hall. Didn't people learn to leave her alone? That's all she really wanted here. It was bad enough that Brinkman and his buddies decided to wreak havoc all over the place but now she had a stalker. She stopped dead in her tracks as he cut her off and leaned heavily on one leg.
"I don't have time to stop and smell the roses," she blurted, her blue eyes connecting with his and for a small second she almost drowned in them but shook it off. "No I haven't heard of you. Should I have? Maybe the nurse should hear from you next. From the looks of that cut on your face you're going to have a bruise for a long while." At this Carman couldn't help but to smile a little. This was amusing to her.
He'd tried to protect her but ended up with a busted jaw. Meanwhile she'd fallen so many times whilst training that she was quite used to having things fall on her. Though a human body was a new thing to her. Usually it was some sort of dummy or her being thrown into the wall. Either way she'd gotten used to it. [/blockquote]

He just laughed, "Well you were walking with the popular girls when ya came down the hall; they're still talkin' about my sister; Serina Lucca, but she's gone." He almost trailed off, but he shook it off. His eyes stared at hers, something mysterious got him stuck; but again he shook it off. "Well than let me walk ya to class. If thats where your going?"

"I was not!" Carman protested, looking back at the back ends of the group of girls that consisted of the popular group. "I'd never fit into that prissy clique," she turned back to him with a determined look on her face. "Never. And I wouldn't want to be either." With that she was about to walk around him to go to her next class when his next question rang in her ears.
"Walk me to class?" she repeated, more of a question in her tone than was in his. "Well since I don't think you're going to take no for an answer and I don't feel like any more conflict," she paused and looked around before heaving another heavy sigh. "Fine. I'm off to Defence. Come with me if you want." [/blockquote]

He followed her; watching her every move. Not in a perverted dogish sort of way, but rather admiring her. "So your not a priss. Well thats a plus, fine intelligent girl with spunk is always good." he smiled turning to Carman, looking down at the books the girl was caring, he was curious now. "So what are you reading, besides text books" he laughed a bit, and just smiled. Defense; such a great class but he prefered potions much more. As they passed a few people in the hall they called out his name. "Serian!" "Lucca!" Everytime he heard his name, he looked up and waved saying yo, or whats up, or the persons name back.

It became quite apparent within the next few moments that Serian wasn't lying about his popularity complex. As they walked the halls, the calls of several students to him were heard from all over the place. And what was worse was that he was greeting them as well. She adjusted the books in her arms that seemed to have grown in weight and continued on her way as if nothing at all was happening around her - as if there wasn't a guy behind her that made her think twice about what she was doing.
"Just a few other things. Nothing too important," she replied, falling out of the crowd and standing in front of the DADA door. "Well this is it. I'll see you around then..." [/blockquote]

He smiled looking back at Carman. "Nothing important? hmm" glancing down at her books his curiuosity arised; they got another step closer to the door to defense, he kept staring at Carman, he couldn't keep his eyes off her, she was just so beautiful. "I guess this is it huh?" Hes eyes got so stuck on hers, its like he could see her sould through them.
He shuffled his foot, and leaned agains the doorway just staring at Carman.

Carman was rather taken aback at the constant staring this boy was doing to her. Was he always like this or did he find her so entrancing? Either way it was creepy and she would have probably given anything to get him to look the other way as he leaned against the door to the classroom. "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to stare?" she asked, her snappy self coming into play again. "It's rather rude."
She paused then. He was rather cute after all. In fact she could probably say that he was particularly hot. It was no wonder why all the girls were flocking all over him. He would probably never even be interested in her anyways. "Well..." she drifted off, looking at her classroom and back at him. He still stared. Odd. "I- I have to go." [/blockquote]

He smiled, and shook his head, "Nope. " he laughed, he looked from Carman down to his feet. Taking a step forward, reaching back to his neck her rubbed it as he looked back at Carman, "Yay. " Pause, a rather akward pause, "Umm, I'd like to see ya after class; if you don't mind?" He smiled, still rubbing his neck still.
